OCCAM Capital is an independent group formed by three senior executive partners: Laurent Cadieu, Marc Goldberg, and François Lepicard bringing together more than 60 years of combined experience in private equity investment, either in Direct, Secondary, Venture Capital and Later Stage investments.
- Laurent Cadieu, Founding Managing Partner, 44, is the former CEO of equities at BNP Paribas. At BNP he was Head of the Capital Market operations in NY, and held various senior functions within the Bank. Laurent brings to Occam a strong equity and valuation culture and an awareness of risk management based on more than 17 years of banking and transaction experience. Laurent graduated from Polytechnique and the ENST.
- Marc Goldberg, Founding Managing Partner, 42, is the former General Partner of the Reuters Venture Capital Fund, one of the leading global European VC funds that invested more than 450M in 82 transactions with strong returns (16 IPOs, 27 exits). He has a strong technology operation background from the 7 years he spent in Palo-Alto as an executive in several software companies (Rational Software, Renaissance Software, and HP). Marc brings to Occam more than 20 years of operational experience in the technology industry and in venture capital. Marc graduated from Paris VI in computer science (BS, MS), and was a visiting graduate research fellow at Stanford.
- François Lepicard, Founding Managing Partner, 43, is the former McKinsey partner in charge of its Parisian corporate finance practice. He started his career at DB Morgan Grenfell, and was recently head of M&A at Cegelec. Francois brings to Occam 9 years of corporate finance experience, and more than 10 years of business and corporate development. Francois graduated from Polytechnique.
Two area partners based in Palo Alto and Hong Kong will support the fund business development activities in each key geography.
- Jeff Clavier,the US partner, is a former general partner of RVC (manager of the Reuters greenhouse fund) and will bring to the fund his extensive experience of the US market. Guillaume Dry, the Asian Partner, is the former head of Peregrine, a leading Asian investment bank. He will bring a considerable wealth of experience and connections in Chinese business and official circles as well as in the financial industry in Asia.
- Guillaume Dry, ASIAN Partner, 45, is the Chairman of Sinobridge Enterprises, a Hong Kong based merchant banking boutique which he created at the end of 2003. Sinobridge is a China specialist with a focus on private equity investment. It also advises selected multi national companies on their China strategy and development. Before founding Sinobridge, Guillaume had been for 6 years the Head of BNP Paribas Peregrine, a leading Asian Investment Bank and the recognized number 1 Investment Bank for Chinese mid-cap companies, responsible over the years for numerous innovations and firsts in M&A and ECM transactions for PRC companies. Guillaume is also an adviser to Bank of China International and New Hope Capital
